He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and received the architecture award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters in 2011. He has received awards and fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation and the Canadian Centre for Architecture (CCA) and was a Getty Scholar for Art History. Anthony Vidler is a leading architectural historian, critic and theorist.
